A magazine about Thessaly, made in Thessaly.
Exploring Thessaly is a digital magazine published by ORIA FILMS, a non-profit civil company based in Larissa, Greece. We record the places, people and culture of the region in words, photographs and films, and keep the material as an archive for the generations to come.
Our own images
We take our own photographs and shoot our own films. Every drone shot is flown by a certified pilot.
Consent first
Nobody appears who does not want to. The craftsmen see their episode before it is published.
We write what we know
If we have not confirmed something, we do not write it. When we get something wrong, we correct it openly.
The archive stays
The material is archived for schools, municipalities and research, so that it stays with the place.
Collaborators
Each production brings in different collaborators: researchers, sound recordists, editors and the people of each place who open their doors to us.

Tilemachos Gioglaris
Photographer and filmmaker from Larissa with more than 15 years of work and international awards in photography. Certified drone pilot (EASA A1/A2/A3). Took part in the 47th Drama Short Film Festival (2024) and won an award at the Taratsa Film Festival (2025).
