Ambelonas is a town in the municipality of Tyrnavos, in the Larissa regional unit of Thessaly, Greece, at an elevation of 70 metres and 13 km in a straight line from Larissa. At the 2021 census it had 5,590 inhabitants.

Ampelonas is a village and a municipal unit of the Tyrnavos municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was an independent municipality. The community of Ampelonas covers an area of 38.632 km2 while the respective municipal unit covers an area of 154.759 km2.
